Rooms and Rates

Our five rooms are designed to delight the eye and provide comfort and rest to our guests. Each one is distinctly decorated. Potpourri scents the rooms for freshness. We maintain a scrupulously clean environment.

Windows are double-glazed & screened, and can be opened for fresh air. Drapery is lined, for comfortable sleeping.

Temperature is individually controlled with quiet baseboard electric heaters. In the summer, the house is centrally air-conditioned.

For visitors on a schedule, alarm clocks are found in your room, or the hosts can knock on your door at a pre-arranged time. There are no televisions or telephones in the rooms, helping to maintain the tranquillity of the house.

Extra pillows, blankets, and a flashlight for emergencies are found in each room. Bathrooms are complete with towels, bathmats, personalized soaps, shampoo, bubble bath and hairdryer. Grab bars have been installed for safety. If visitors have forgotten other toiletry items the Butler's Basket can lend a hand. Located on the 2nd landing, the basket contains toothbrushes, razors, band-aids, deodorants, sewing kits, hand cream etc. Your hosts can also provide you with an iron & ironing-board or curling iron, if you so require.

Room Rates:
Rates quoted in Canadian dollars, for double occupancy per room, and include breakfast for two. Taxes are extra.
For single occupancy, there is a 15% discount per room.
For each extra person/child in #3, #4, #5 there is a $30.00 surcharge.
Roll-away cots are provided for #4 & #5, there is a double sofa-bed in #3.
Rooms #1 & #2 are designed to accommodate maximum 2 people.

Reservations :
Your credit card number, either VISA or MASTERCARD is required to make a reservation.
During Week-ends and Holidays, a minimum reservation of 2 nights is required: however, we book single night reservations 14 days ahead, if available.
Late check-in (after 9 p.m.): a $25.00 late check-in fee applies.

Cancellations:

If cancellation is received more than 14 days before arrival, there is no penalty.
If cancellation received within 14 days of arrival, 50% of the full rate is charged, if we are unable to rebook the room(s).
If no cancellation notice is received , the full rate is charged to your credit card.

#1: The MacLaren Room

Walking up the oak stairway from the spacious front hall, guest find the MacLaren Room on their right. At the front of the house, overlooking the front garden and the Gatineau River, it has original hardwood floors.

The room is elegantly decorated in a subtle Caribbean theme, with lace canopied queen size bed, dressing-table, large armoire, 2 armchairs and table by the window. The ensuite bathroom includes toilet, hand-basin and a corner shower stall.

#2: The Moses Edey Room

On the second floor landing, guests find the Moses Edey Room.The window faces quaint houses at the base of a beautiful rock face with pine trees.

Decorated in relaxing green, it has a double bed, bureau with mirror, side tables and a comfortable wingback chair for reading. A collection of evening purses and gloves create a unique wall decoration.

The ensuite bathroom has toilet, washbasin and an old-fashioned footed soaking tub.

#3 : The Gatineau Suite

The Suite consists of 3 rooms, i.e. bedroom, livingroom and large bathroom. Decorated in tranquil greens & lavender, with original hardwood floors & turn-of-the-century style paintings, the apartment exudes a quiet elegance.

The living-room greets you, with original fireplace. The door opposite opens out onto the balcony, from where you can watch blue jays and squirrels at the garden feeders, or the moon rise at night. There is a comfortable sofa-bed, armoire, corner cabinet, chairs and table.

In the bedroom, a queen-size bed, triple dresser & corner dressing area await, with ensuite powder-room. The huge bathroom has 2 hand basins, large shower stall, toilet, roman tub, plus a bar-frig stocked with juices & soft drinks.

#4 The Dr. Geggie Room

On the 3rd. floor, this room is at the front of the house, looking through the century old maples, towards the Gatineau River.

A soaring ceiling of natural pine greets guests as they open the door to this romantic spacious room. You find a king-sized bed, love-seat, sitting area with wicker furniture, clothes closet, ensuite bathroom with old-fashioned soaking tub, toilet and hand basin. Completing the tranquil setting, are rose-coloured carpeting and decorations on a "Loon" theme, a symbol of the Canadian outdoors experience.

Size: Very Large, irregular shaped, 350 sq.ft.

#5 The Dr. Stevenson Room

On the 3rd. floor at the back of the house, the carpeted room is large enough for a queensize bed plus a single bed in an alcove (space enough for a small family, or those wishing 2 separate beds) . Large clothes storage, a window seat, rocking chair, and built-in desk are found in the room. The ensuite bathroom has a shower stall, soaking tub, toilet & washbasin. "Cats" are celebrated in the decorating theme, in honour of Tiger, our resident marmalade tabby.

Size: Very large, (over 400 sq.ft.) irregular L-shaped, built into the roof-lines.
